We'll set up the beds in the sala blu one of the theatre rooms (wake up at 8.00 a.m.), four bathrooms are available near the dormitory and two other ones in the theatre, a duty room is available for baggages and effects (we'll always set up the dormitory in the evening because it have be clear and open during the day).

The “Teatro della Dodicesima" (The Theatre of the Twelfth) was born thanks to the adventurous changes of the association “Spinaceto cultura e teatro Boomerang” founded in 1990 by Claudio Cilli and Gabriella De Rosa.
In 1996 started their collaboration with the theatre company “di Beato e Angelica” founded by Flavio Albanese and Marinella Anaclerio. Thanks to the hard work of Maria Otranto and Paolo Mattei we can today welcome the first Theatre of Arts in this municipality. The 12th that is.
The name “Teatro della Dodicesima” was chosen from different hypothesis, advices, dreams and illuminated ideas such as: Teatro Boomerang, Piccolo Teatro dell’Arte, Al Mameli, Teatro delle Periferie del Mondo, Periferico 60… At last the name we choose representing us the most was the one that was connected to the area in which this place was born and is now growing, as our simbolic tree.
Later we discovered…most of the antique cities were based on the system of the number twelve and for the Greeks number twelve was the number of the state and the city. Twelve were the doors of heaven and hell where the Egyptian Sun God, Ra passed his time during night. Joshua gathered twelve stones from the Jordan. The era of man lasts 12.000 years, at the age of twelve Jesus entered the temple for the first time and at last, the twelfth hour has a particular force…animals and spirits may speak:

With strong humility and determination we choose to quote the words, and making them ours, from the letter of intent written by two marvellous artists in the Italian history of theatre, Giorgio Streheler and Paolo Grassi, when opening their theatre:
“…We will recruit our audience as much as possible from the working class, the young people, the offices, fabrics and schools. No experimental theatre and neither a theatre closed for the initiated and exceptional, but a theatre of arts for everybody. We do not believe that Theatre is a world habit or an abstract tribute to culture. We do not want to offer pure amusement nor passive and lazy contemplation. And neither do we think of theatre as an anthology of memorial works from the past or curious novelties of the present, as long as these do not awake in us an alive and honest interest. Theatre remains what it was in the deep intentions of its creators; a place where a freely united community reveals itself for itself, a place where a community listens to words to accept or to reject. Because also when the spectators do not fully recognise these words they will help them making decisions in their individual life and in their responsability towards society …”, Milan 1947
